Ozone Falls State Natural Area is a state natural area in Cumberland County, Tennessee, located in the Southeastern United States. It consists of 43 acres centered around Ozone Falls, a 110-foot plunge waterfall, and its immediate gorge along Fall Creek.
Filmed on 5-24-08 for our series "Waterfalls of the Southern Highlands" using Sony V1U and HC1 cameras.

In looking for the best quality way to shoot video for the Internet (as opposed to broadcast television as I usually create) I set one of our HD cameras (a Sony V1U) on 30 frames per second progressive -- 30p -- as opposed to the standard 60i we normally shoot in. The results were quite pleasing (click on READ MORE to see them, you will need to make sure your Adobe Flash is up to date).

A 30-second animation test ... I am attempting motion tracking (in this case, place animated objects in actual video in a realistic manner). Much closer than previous tests, although the building still drifts slightly. I am using the software packages Syntheyes and Lightwave. (please click on READ MORE to view)

Pat and I put our 3-day Memorial Day Weekend to good use, getting on the road again for our series "Waterfalls of the Southern Highlands." We bagged 16 waterfalls on the incredibly beautiful Cumberland Plateau (part of the Appalachian mountain range) in Tennessee. see preliminary report and some pics on all three days HERE.
